Castello925 was born in the mind of its creator, Luca Caldironi, long before it ever became an actual space.
Luca had been envisioning for a while a space dedicated to creativity, or rather, cre-activity : an all-embracing/360-degree creative activity that would bring together art, culture, literature, leaving plenty of space for imagination.
We’re not talking about a simple art-gallery, which would not only be reductive but also, in ways, outdated. This is a place where creative expressions of all kinds come to meet, clash and leave their footprint. A place to present “finished” works that were built elsewhere … but also a space where new ideas come to life and new co-operations. A place to live in and hang out, not just for grand openings, but for the everyday life of an artist, a writer’s research or exchanges of passionate art-seekers and collectors.

The project aims to promote the dissemination of artistic and cultural projects that start from the intersection of creativity and psychoanalysis.
Its ambitious is not simply to combine different fields of inquiry, but to give rise to a creative space - or movement - that, through 'K' (to Know), in the 'here and now' ('Now') of experience, animated by passion ('L'), moves along the 'Edge', of discourse.
It is a movement in continuous development that fosters the formation of ties and associative networks' rooted in Venice and unfolding through international collaborations.

Traces: Art, Psychoanalysis, and the Ethics of Unsaturated Space
We are pleased to announce the publication of Traces: Art, Psychoanalysis, and the Ethics of Unsaturated Space, the new book by Luca Caldironi, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, psychoanalyst, and founder of the Venice-based contemporary art and research space Castello 925.
Drawing upon the work of psychoanalyst Wilfred Bion, the book explores the relationship between subjectivity, art, and contemporary culture, asking a fundamental question: What does it mean to think without seeking closure?
Through key Bionian concepts such as unsaturated space, reverie, and transformation, the book argues that art and psychoanalysis share a common task: sustaining the conditions under which thought can emerge, develop, and remain open to the complexity of experience.
The volume engages with some of the defining issues of our time—including embodiment, generative artificial intelligence, transformations of subjectivity, and non-linear conceptions of time—proposing the trace as a vital figure of orientation within a culture increasingly governed by prediction, efficiency, optimization, and the pursuit of immediate outcomes.
Challenging the impulse toward neat conclusions and reductive certainties, Traces defends incompletion as an ethical and creative necessity, suggesting that new forms of knowledge, relationship, and imagination emerge precisely through our capacity to remain open to uncertainty.
The publication continues the research trajectory developed through Castello 925 and the K-Now-L-Edge Project, both dedicated to exploring the intersections of contemporary art, emotional experience, language, and psychoanalysis.
The book is published by Castello 925 – Non-Profit Cultural Association, and all proceeds from sales will support the association’s cultural, artistic, and research activities.
